This parchment leather is made of hand-processed kidskins or goat skins, following an extensive , very labour intensive combination of age-old techniques. This results in a unique high quality parchment.
The kid skins give super fine, smooth and delicate sheets of thin parchment, popular to turn into pages for books, or for decorative stitching in traditional Andalusian Vaquera horse riding equipment.
The goat skins result in a smooth but sturdier, stiffer parchment, great for bookbinding purposes, lampshades, small percussion instruments, fine rawhide braiding, ...
The family run traditional tannery from the province of Toledo, Spain produces high quality leathers with the distinctive handmade character of traditional Spanish leather. We are starting with some all-time basics in our Tandy catalogue, but feel free to enquire about different specifics like colour, thickness, quality, size ... our close relation with the tannery allows for a very personalized service!
